SUMMARY/OBJECTIVE
The assistant project manager assists the project manager for successfully completing projects in accordance with established goals in terms of safety, budget, quality and schedule. Assist with the develop project plans to ensure profitability and customer satisfaction.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

- Works with project managers and superintendents to plan, organize and direct activities concerned with site construction projects.
- Establish project objectives, policies, procedures and performance standards within boundaries of company policy and contract specifications. Confer with superintendents to discuss such matters as work procedures, complaints and construction problems.
- Initiate and maintain liaison with owners and other contacts to facilitate project activities.
- Monitor and control project through administrative direction of on-site foremen to ensure project is completed on schedule and within budget.
- Investigate potentially serious situations and implement corrective measures.
- Represent company in project meetings and attend strategy meetings.
- Work with contract administrator to manage financial aspects of contracts to protect company’s interest and simultaneously maintain good relationship with the customer.
- May requisition supplies and materials to complete project.
- Interpret and explain plans and contract terms to administrative staff, workers and clients.
- Formulate reports concerning such areas as work progress, costs and scheduling.
- Work with dispatcher to assign workers to construction sites to work on specified projects.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
- Bachelor’s Degree in construction management or related field. Or, an equivalent combination of education, training and work experience.
- 2-3 Years related work or internship experience, preferably in the construction field.
ESSENTIAL KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES
- Must be able to read drawings, interpret codes, and be familiar with all phases of building design.
- Ability to efficiently manage multiple projects and priorities simultaneously under time constraints.
- Knowledge of hard bid process.
- Understanding of Project Financials.
- Train, coach and develop Project Engineers.
- Knowledge of RFPs Preconstruction Process.
- Understanding of schedules.
- Ability to travel to project work sites.
- Valid driver’s license with clean driving record.
