Administrative Assistant– Position Summary
We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Administrative Assistant to support a quadriplegic professional in a dynamic and mission-driven environment. This role involves a blend of traditional administrative duties and creative collaboration. You will assist with writing, editing, computer-based tasks, and overall office operations.
This position is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced setting, is motivated by meaningful work, and brings flexibility, creativity, and strong communication skills to the table. It is not limited to clerical work—we're looking for a thoughtful communicator and problem-solver who can grow with the role and contribute to a wide range of projects.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support for both internal and external projects
- Manage day-to-day office operations
- Maintain and coordinate calendar and scheduling logistics
- Draft and edit correspondence, documents, and reports
- Assist with public relations and social media outreach
- Support the planning and execution of special events and projects
Qualifications:
Required:
- Bachelor’s degree (minimum)
- At least 2 years of experience in an office or administrative setting
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint) and Google Workspace (Docs, Drive, Sheets)
- Typing speed of at least 60 words per minute
- Familiarity with major social media platforms (Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, Twitter, LinkedIn)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Highly organized, dependable, and able to manage multiple tasks independently
- Team-oriented, with a positive, flexible attitude and a willingness to take on a variety of tasks
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced and collaborative environment
Preferred (Not Required):
- Access to reliable transportation
- Experience with database management
- Experience with social media content creation or strategy
Additional Details:
- This is a mostly remote position, with some required on-site hours at our office in Hamden, CT
- We follow strict COVID-19 safety protocols for all in-person work
- Salary is commensurate with experience
