Overview
Primarily responsible to perform all duties of a Teller/Receivables Specialist and assist/lead the team in performing satisfactory operations on a daily basis.
Responsibilities
- Answer, assist, and direct incoming customer service calls including but not limited to understanding the retail finance contract and professionally respond to questions that arise from customers, quote payoffs, explain fees, print necessary letters etc.
- Post a variety of payment types accurately and timely and balance daily.
- Review customer credit disputes and respond in a timely manner.
- Make necessary payment corrections to accounts.
- Print Collection Letters.
- Create electronic file for Welcome letters and Payment Coupons.
- Administer the Recurring payment process including Adds and Cancels.
- Scan pertinent documents to existing scanned files.
- Process extensions.
- File all new contracts with title.
- Operate mailroom equipment effectively to prepare daily outgoing mail.
- Sort, open, and identify incoming mail.
- Adhere to all C&F policies and procedures as well as complying with all regulations and applicable laws.
- Must be able to work a flexible schedule to include rotating weeknights, weekends, and holidays as business dictates.
- Knowledge, understanding and compliance with all applicable Federal, State, and Local laws and regulations that regulate the collection and finance industry.
- Take all AFSA University required courses and be able to successfully pass all testing requirements.
- Must be able to follow attendance requirements for the position.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Knowledge:
Three to five years or more of experience in a bank teller setting or consumer loan lending preferred. Experience and a level of proficiency with Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel and Power Point) required. Proficient computer skills and typing skills.
Skills:
Excellent communication, interpersonal, organizational, and PC skills are required. Strong intuitive, analytical, problem solving and organizational skills are essential. Must possess a strong attention to detail. Highly motivated. Excellent phone skills. Excellent oral and written communications skills. Individual must be a team player who works cooperatively with peers, employees, managers and other departments, along with external customers. Must possess advance business math to solve problems and calculations.
Abilities:
Must be an excellent listener. Able to work independently. Able to understand the auto loan industry processes and regulations. Able to multi-task and work in a fast paced environment with deadlines and performance standards. Able to present accurate mathematical calculations. Able to follow written and/or verbal instructions. Ability to understand finance contracts.
Education:
High School Diploma required. Associate’s Degree or College Degree preferred.
Physical Demands
Employee may experience the following physical demands for extended periods of time: view computer monitor, keyboarding, talking on the phone, sitting for a long period, filing motion fingers/hands/wrists, lifting boxes no heavier than 30 pounds and standing/walking. Employee may push a mail cart no heavier than 40 pounds. Employee may be required to perform some travel during working hours. Employee must possess a valid driver license and auto insurance.
Work Environment
Work is performed in an operational office environment.
