Corrosion Technician — Valley Energy

C&T Enterprises, Inc., will receive letters of interest for a Full-time Corrosion Technician at Valley Energy.

Location: This position will be based at the Valley Energy headquarters in Sayre, PA.

Reporting Structure: This position will report to the Vice President (VP) of Operations at Valley Energy.

Primary Function: This role's primary responsibilities include analyzing, maintaining, and monitoring corrosion control systems for all steel pipelines. The Corrosion Technician will perform corrosion surveys and install cathodic protection equipment and devices. Additionally, the technician will provide general assistance to the VP of Operations and other managers and support various operational activities as required.

Qualifications and Skills:

To be successful in this role, the candidate should possess the following qualifications and skills:

• Associate degree in Electrical Technology or a minimum of two years of relevant technical experience

• Two years of experience in natural gas operations or equivalent

• National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE) Cathodic Protection Tester (CP-1) and Pipeline Coating Applicator (PCA) certifications, or obtain within 3 years
  
• Working knowledge of the fundamentals of natural gas operations and corrosion control, including regulations, standards, policies, and practices set by the Public Service Commission (PSC), Public Utilities Commission (PUC), Office of Pipeline Safety (OPS), National Fire Protection Association (NFPA), and company procedures

• Understanding of Direct Current (DC) electricity and foundational knowledge of Alternating Current (AC) Electricity
  
• Experience in the use of line location equipment and corrosion control measurement instruments
  
• Knowledge of engineering record keeping
  
• Strong interpersonal and customer relations skills

• Demonstrated ability to balance multiple duties and priorities effectively

• Ability to effectively work independently with little or no supervision
  
• Respect for a diverse workforce and internal/external constituents
  
• Commitment, responsibility, trustworthiness, and integrity

Responsibilities:

As the Corrosion Technician, the candidate will be responsible for:

• Conducting corrosion surveys of steel transmission and distribution pipelines
  
• Conducting atmospheric surveys of all aboveground pipeline facilities
  
• Evaluating cathodic protection systems and assists with design of systems to provide cathodic protection for steel pipelines
  
• Advising construction crews in installing cathodic protection devices
  
• Installing anodes, test sites, and other cathodic protection devices and equipment
  
• Maintaining and inspecting cathodic protection system rectifiers
  
• Assisting cathodic protection survey contractors
  
• Performing coating repairs to pipeline facilities
  
• Inspecting coating applications by company and contractor crews
  
• Preparing related reports and test documents
  
• Updating corrosion control records and maps
  
• Conducting line locations
  
• Maintaining assigned vehicle and equipment
  
• Performing other related work as assigned

Special Working Conditions:

The candidate must be available after hours to respond to emergencies. The role occasionally involves working in inclement weather. The candidate will also be subject to random drug and alcohol testing.
