About This Role
As an Underwriting Manager - Property & Casualty at C. Winchell Agency, Inc., you will be responsible for managing and growing a profitable book of business by reviewing loss analysis, exposure analysis, hazard group, and reinsurance acceptability.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Review Due Diligence reports, Loss control surveys, loss runs, and timeliness of premium payments, taking appropriate action when necessary
- Collaborate with specialists such as premium auditors, claims adjusters, and loss control engineers for risk assessment
- Manage and delegate the activities of underwriting assistants, including reaction time to compliance issues and requests from internal departments
- Present accounts to management for underwriting approval accompanied by the appropriate underwriting data and recommendations
To succeed in this role, you will require three years' industry experience with a capacity for underwriting and production of primary casualty accounts. A working knowledge of large account rating programs, including retrospective rating and large deductibles, is essential. People management skills are also a must.
