Job Description
Property Claims / Desk Examiner
The Property Claim Representative will handle new homeowner and commercial property claims, receiving and reviewing information as it is entered into the system.
They will contact insureds to discuss claims, considering photo estimating or desk adjusting options as appropriate. The representative will also discuss loss circumstances and request pertinent documentation from insureds, their representatives, contractors, and independent adjusters.
Responsibilities include:
- Receiving and reviewing documentation from insureds, their representatives, contractors, and independent adjusters.
- Adjusting reserves based on inspections and estimates provided.
- Confirming coverage by reviewing policy endorsements.
- Providing insureds with final figures and settling claims accordingly.
- Requesting payment and closing files once claims are settled.
- Reviewing supplement requests and depreciation holdback payment requests.
The ideal candidate should possess a Bachelor's degree and have strong verbal and written communication skills, as well as analytical and decision-making abilities. Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, particularly Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook, is preferred. Experience with Guidewire software is also beneficial.
