Job Summary
We are seeking a Commercial Lines Underwriter to join our team at C. Winchell Agency, Inc. The ideal candidate will have three years' industry experience with a capacity for underwriting and production of primary casualty accounts.
Your Key Responsibilities:
- Manage and grow a profitable book of business by reviewing loss analysis, exposure analysis, hazard group, and reinsurance acceptability
- Review Due Diligence reports, Loss control surveys, loss runs, and timeliness of premium payments, taking appropriate action when necessary
- Collaborate with specialists such as premium auditors, claims adjusters, and loss control engineers for risk assessment
- Present accounts to management for underwriting approval accompanied by the appropriate underwriting data and recommendations
A working knowledge of large account rating programs, including retrospective rating and large deductibles, is essential. People management skills are also a must.
