Job Summary
C5i is looking for a Research Library Paraprofessional/Library Technician who can provide general support and assistance with daily operations, providing excellent customer service, and facilitating access to library resources.
Job Responsibilities
- Assist in the organization, cataloging, circulation, and maintenance of library materials
- Provide general reference and research assistance in person and on-line
- Assist with the document delivery including Inter-library loan
- Maintain the physical condition of library materials
- Track and maintain statistics across the library’s products and services
- Assist with providing and improving access to digital collections.
- Assist with planning, creating materials, and promoting library’s programs, products and services
- Assist in building, authoring, and designing library web pages.
- Assist in monitoring chatbot performance to provide efficient and accurate customer support
- Acts as a liaison between the library and archives to retrieve holdings, and update catalog records for accuracy
- Participate in special projects and other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications:
- A bachelor’s degree in library sciences or related field OR associate’s degree
- 3 years of experience in a library or library related environment
- Knowledge of current cataloging standards, practices, policies, and procedures
- Knowledge of and experience in utilizing an integrated library system. Familiarity with EOS.Web is a plus.
- Ability to use library software applications, integrated library platforms, and other information technology
- Knowledge of searching the Web and commercial database services
- Ability to work independently, within a collaborative structure, and in a high-production environment
- Excellent analytical, project management and organizational skills and attention to details
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
