Job Description And Duties
Under the general direction of the Chief Deputy Warden, the Labor Relations Analyst performs the analytical staff work relating to grievances, arbitrations, and labor negotiations, and acts as liaison between management and labor unions.

California State Prison-Sacramento is a high security male institution located in Folsom, CA. Employees may regularly be required to be in close vicinity of inmates and may visit various areas within the secured housing units.

Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by department annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.

In addition to evaluating each candidate's relative ability, as demonstrated by quality and breadth of experience, the following factors will provide the basis for competitively evaluating each candidate:

This position requires that the incumbent relate well to persons of varied backgrounds and express ideas and facts to individuals or a group effectively; accurately use knowledge to interpret, apply, and communicate specific laws, rules, policies, and procedures relating labor relations; have a thorough knowledge of varied and complex administrative policies and procedures and departmental operations; be able to independently analyze problems and take effective action; handle sensitive and confidential assignments with tact and diplomacy; handle changing priorities and exercise good judgment; establish and maintain cooperative working relationships and communicate effectively.
