The Safety Technician Position
The Safety Technician supports the Company’s Safety Director and project teams to coordinate and ensure field safety for all jobsites and facilities. The primary responsibility of the Safety Technician is to maintain a safety presence on jobsites and a high standard of health and safety through regular safety audits and Pre-Task Planning, general employee training, and incident and injury response.
The Safety Technician is also responsible for mentoring field staff and ensuring compliance with quality standards and applicable laws and regulations under the direction of the Safety Director.
Desired Experience, Skills, and Abilities for the Safety Technician Position
- Bachelors’ degree in Occupational Health & Safety, and/or equivalent work experience is preferred
- Five or more years of experience in a construction-related role
- Possess a valid Driver’s License and ability to travel within the state of Michigan on a somewhat regular basis
- Excellent communication and organizational skills
- Problem-solving skills, with an adaptable and flexible approach in working with all types of individuals
- Physical ability to sit and stand for long periods of time; frequent bending, climbing ladders, and walking on rough terrain
- The ability to fluently read, write, and speak English. Ability to speak Spanish is a plus!
- Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook

The position is full-time, Monday through Friday (with occasional nights and weekends, as needed), with a competitive compensation package based on skills and experience.
