Exposition Park seeks a dynamic and experienced Event Coordinator who can thrive in a fast-paced and constantly changing environment. Both customer-focused and business-minded, the Event Coordinator serves as the first point of contact for the use of State property for filming, concerts, community gatherings, sporting activities, and parking. The position requires a high-degree of customer service, responsiveness, accuracy, confidentiality, integrity, and independence.

- Experience in event planning.
- Knowledge of the physical, organizational, and personnel requirements essential for coordinating major entertainment or commercial events, including event planning, coordination, and project management methods.
- Ability to apply and interpret policies, regulations, and laws effectively.
- Ability to establish and maintain strong relationships with employees and stakeholders.
- Excellent public speaking skills, with the ability to communicate clearly and effectively in front of groups.
- Proficient in presenting ideas and information effectively, both orally and in writing.
- Ability to perform well under pressure and meet tight deadlines.
- Skilled in using tact and good judgment when communicating and collaborating with customers, co-workers, management, and representatives from other government agencies.
- Bilingual Spanish fluency/speaker

ELIGIBILITY AND ADDITIONAL INFORMATION
- List Eligibility – Successfully complete the civil service exam for the classification (see Examination Information section below).

TAU Appointment May Be Considered
When no eligible list exists for the classification of the vacant position, at the time when an employee is needed, this type of TAU appointment is utilized.
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications for the class. Employees hired in lieu of a permanent are permitted to work up to nine (9) months pending the completion of a new examination for the class.
A TAU in lieu of permanent appointment triggers an examination. The hiring department will host an examination within 2-3 months of the expiration of the appointment. Therefore, the employee should be made aware of this and is encouraged to compete in the examination. The employee must successfully compete in the examination and be reachable in order to continue employment beyond the 9 month limit.
TAU employees are not permanent and do not serve a probationary period.
