What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool School Psychologist / Evaluator position at Cabarrus County School District?
Cabarrus County Schools is currently seeking (for the 2024-25 school year) a dynamic and highly skilled preschool evaluator to work with our district's preschool outreach program performing both play-based and standardized assessments, writing interdisciplinary evaluation reports, providing consultation, performing observations, and attending IEP meetings.
This job posting is dedicated to serving the preschool population within Cabarrus County Schools, including performing Transdisciplinary Play Based Assessments (TPBA-2) as well as standardized disability evaluations. A preschool evaluator who serves in this role is responsible for engaging in a multidisciplinary team, performing observations, report-writing, analyzing and synthesizing data, and consulting with parents, teachers, and related service personnel to build instructional supports and educational planning for preschool students.
General Definition of Work
Cabarrus County Schools school psychologists are integral members of data driven MTSS, SISP (mental health), and Exceptional Children's teams, participating regularly on problem-solving teams and providing both direct and indirect services to students.

Essential Functions
- Engage in consultation, counseling, and crisis response.
- Assist with addressing mental health needs.
- Hold conferences with parents.
- Conduct psychoeducational evaluations when students are suspected of having disabilities.
- Offer various trainings to staff.
- Participate on multi-disciplinary district-level teams.
- Work with teachers, school staff, and families as part of a collaborative team within the school setting.
- Engage in regular professional development to boost their skill sets and continue to move forward in establishing a comprehensive service delivery model based on the NASP Practice Model.
