Hours: 8:00 - 5:00 Monday - Friday, 40 hours per week
The Behavioral Health Provider will perform professional clinical social work services under supervision, and will provide behavioral and mental health assessment and treatment to individuals with justice involvement. The Provider will service clients within Cabarrus County Detention as well as upon release.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Complete assessment with attention to suicidality, self-harm and serious mental illness
- Provide clinical recommendations, develop treatment plans, intervene according to professional standards and maintain records and files through client incarceration
- Collaborate and cooperate with Cabarrus County Detention staff
- Provide client education, referral, and follow-up as determined by client need
- Participate in or conduct group sessions related to program and client needs
Education/Experience: Graduation from an accredited college or university with a master's degree in social work or clinical mental health counseling. Experience with individuals with substance use disorder, mental illness, incarceration, or recent release preferred.
License: LCSW-A, LCSW, LCMHC-A, LCMHC
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Extensive knowledge of social, economic and emotional needs and DSM 5 mental health diagnoses
- Ability to deal tactfully with others and to exercise good judgment in appraising situations and making decisions
- Must be able to solve problems within scope of responsibility
- Possess ability to secure cooperation of clients, to elicit needed information and to maintain effective working relationships
- Accurately record services rendered, submit accurate billing and to interpret and explain records
