What are the responsibilities and job description for the ECCC Financial Counselor position at Cabell Huntington Hospital?
Cabell Huntington Hospital is seeking a full-time Financial Counselor with our ECCC Patient Support.
The incumbent receives and reviews new patient, identified problems, contacts patients and/or third party payers to secure information details, payments or alternative settlement plans.
Requirements:- High School Diploma or equivalent is required
- Minimum of up to 1 Year of Position-Related Experience is required
- 2 to 5 Years of Position-Related Experience is preferred
The kind of position-related experience includes:
Must have a positive experience and have demonstrated the ability to effectively work with the public. Prefer at least 6 months work experience in a medical office setting. The ability to secure information and make arrangements in difficult situations. Knowledge of medical terminology including CPT and ICD-9 coding, processing and computer experience a must. Proven ability and willingness to work with the assist patients, coworkers, physicians and general public. Willing to take initiative, inquisitive, courteous and respectful.

- Contact with patient in a variety of circumstances

- Occasionally subjected to irregular hours/absences will be closely scrutinized.
- Frequent stimuli such as multiple meetings, phone calls, and inquiries may occur.
