What are the responsibilities and job description for the OSP Hydro Vac Operator position at CableCom LLC?
Reporting to the OSP Manager, the Hydro Vac Operator is primarily responsible for running a Hydro Vac truck, working in a safe manner and assisting the entire crew to ensure projects are completed in a timely and cost effective manner.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities
- Adhere to company policies, procedures and OSHA safety standards.
- Comply with construction codes and standards.
- Perform work in a quality and efficient manner.
- Demonstrate willingness for continuous self-improvement.
- Assist Foreman in ensuring jobs are brought in on time.
- Inspect vehicles and equipment prior to and after use, including checking fluid levels and tire pressure to ensure their safe and proper operation.
- Drive trucks and equipment to job sites.
- Perform on call duties as required
- Other duties as may be necessary to fulfill the responsibilities of this position
Qualifications
- Prior vacuum truck or trailer unit experience is preferred, including working knowledge of hand and various power tools.
- Ability to read and understand prints, maps and construction plans.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- Some out of town travel and occasional night work may be required.
- Valid CDL (including air brake with tanker endorsement) is required, along with a medical card.
- Must maintain a good driver’s record and be insurable
