The AI/ML Wireless System Intern position resides in the Wireless Technologies department at CableLabs. This department conducts research and development in new and emerging wireless technologies that include 4G, 5G, Wi-Fi, and spectrum-sharing strategies. Our team plays a crucial role in developing industry standards and technical regulatory policy for mobile and Wi-Fi network design, deployment, service delivery, and operations in licensed
Why This Internship Is Exciting
During the internship, the AI/ML Wireless System Intern will:
- Investigate the applicability of AI/ML system for 5G system (including NROC applications). This investigation should include at least, establishing the requirements for a minimal ML model, for target use cases.
- Specify related minimal architectural requirements.
- The use cases under investigation may include at least one of the following:
- Optimization of different mobility aspects,
- Mid-band mobile networks impact upon fixed wired networks,
- Data collection for UE sided AI/ML model training.
- Collaborative AI/ML model/data transfer between cloud, edge and user device.
What You'll Do
- AI/ML Applicability to use cases of interest, supporting architecture and developing one use case model.
- Implement the target AI/ML use case.
- Identify the overall system requirement for the target AI-ML use case.
- Data collection framework.
- Design the target AI/ML system.
Qualifications
What Is a Must Have
- Currently pursuing a Master's degree or Ph.D. Degree with a BSc with specialization in AI/ML
- Java, C/C , Python, ARM, LATEX, Bash
- Pandas, NumPy, Matplotlib, Scikit-learn
- Qualitative Research Methods, Data analysis, large data sets processing, basic understanding of mobile wireless systems operation.
What Will Set You Apart
- Have a basic understanding of mobile wireless systems operation.
- Experience with Python Machine Learning libraries.
- Excellent analytical skills and critical thinking skills.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills.
- Self-motivated and willingness to learn.
