OVERVIEW
Cache County Corporation is accepting applications for a Fire Chief for the Cache County Fire Department. Under the general direction of the County Executive, the Fire Chief provides administrative direction and leadership for all functions, operations and department personnel in accomplishing the Fire Departments mission of protecting life and property.
The Fire Chief is an appointed, exempt position. Available benefits include medical, dental, vision, and life insurance on the first day of employment, retirement contributions, bereavement leave, and 14 paid holidays. Full-time employees also receive 18 days of personal leave in the first year of employment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Key responsibilities include emergency response leadership, budget preparation, policy development, staff performance management, and fostering positive relationships with mutual aid partners and the community. This role requires someone
who is a strategic leader committed to operational excellence, team development, and public safety.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Education and Experience :
- Bachelors Degree in Fire Science, Business Administration or related field, OR
- Four (4) years of job related training; AND
- Ten (10) years of full-time service including 5 years in a supervisory capacity; including five (5) years of experience in an administrative capacity; AND
- Experience in a volunteer or combination fire department with EMS responsibilities required; OR
- An equivalent combination of education and experience.

ABOUT THE CACHE COUNTY FIRE DEPARTMENT (CCFD)
The Cache County Fire Department (CCFD) provides a wide range of critical services to the community which include structural and wildland fire suppression, advanced life support (ALS) ambulance services in the Cache County Fire Department response
area, rescue operations, vehicle extrication, public education, occupancy inspections, and public assistance. Operating on a 2025 budget of $3,951,000, the department has a staff of 16 FTEs, which includes the Fire Chief, a Deputy Chief, Operations Chief, and EMS Assistant Chief, 3 Captains, 6 Firefighters, and 41 part time and paid-on-call personnel. In 2024, the department responded to 1,053 calls. County personnel work in close cooperation with 10 local volunteer or career departments.
