Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct routine inspections to identify potential issues and ensure compliance with industry standards.
- Service and inspect wet, dry, and pre-action systems to guarantee their optimal performance.
- Maintain and repair fire sprinkler equipment and systems according to applicable codes and standards.
- Interact with customers in a professional manner, providing excellent customer service and support.
- Provide technical assistance to team members and customers as needed, sharing your expertise and knowledge to drive success.
- Teach trade skills to advancing apprentices/helpers, contributing to the development of the next generation of fire safety professionals.
- Complete detailed inspection reports, documenting any issues and reporting results of work completed in a timely and accurate manner.
- Protect and maintain company equipment, ensuring that all assets are well-maintained and ready for use.
- Operate warehouse equipment safely and efficiently, loading and unloading trucks while adhering to safety regulations and manufacturer's guidelines.
- Work safely as outlined by company safety procedures, prioritizing personal protection and adhering to best practices.
- Respond to emergency service calls, providing prompt and effective support in critical situations.
- Maintain a clean and safe workspace, contributing to a positive and productive environment for yourself and colleagues.
- Perform other duties assigned by management, demonstrating flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic work environment.
Required Skills and Qualifications:
- A minimum of 5 years' experience with fire sprinkler systems is highly desirable.
- An advanced working knowledge of NFPA 13 and NFPA 25 is essential.
- Experience with commercial and residential systems is preferred.
- You should be skilled in the operation of sprinkler trade equipment, including impact wrenches, band saws, measuring devices, fitting take-outs, manual lifting devices, grooving machines, threading machines, and powered industrial lifting devices.
- Troubleshooting skills are necessary for identifying and resolving system issues effectively.
- Good interpersonal skills and the ability to work in a team environment are essential, as are good communication skills.
- A valid driver's license and a clean driving record are required.
- You must be flexible with scheduling requirements, which may include evening, weekend, and out-of-town assignments.
- The ability to act in a lead capacity is also required.
