The Opportunity:
CACI is seeking a Microsoft Database Administrator to manage and support SQL Server environments, focusing on SQL Server Always On Availability Groups. The role involves monitoring database performance, executing backup and recovery, optimizing performance, and collaborating with cross-functional teams. Candidates should have 5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA, knowledge of performance tuning, T-SQL programming, and database security. This hybrid position requires occasional travel to Alexandria, VA. A NACI clearance is required. Preferred qualifications include SSIS, SSRS, cloud experience, and knowledge of other database systems (Oracle, PostgreSQL, MariaDB).
Hybrid Work Schedule: This position offers a hybrid work schedule; however, candidates must be willing to travel to Alexandria, VA, as needed. For this reason, preference will be given to candidates residing within 100 miles of Alexandria, VA.
Clearance Requirement: Candidates must successfully pass the NACI (National Agency Check with Inquiries) clearance process to maintain employment in this role.
Responsibilities:
Support and maintain SQL Server Always On Availability Groups across multiple data centers.
Monitor database performance, availability, and security for enterprise-scale environments.
Execute backup and recovery procedures according to established protocols.
Assist with capacity planning and implement performance optimization measures.
Maintain documentation for database procedures and configurations.
Participate in on-call rotation for database support.
Work with development teams to identify bottlenecks and optimize database performance.
Assist in database upgrades, patches, and migrations.
Help maintain database security controls and access management.
Support daily database operations and troubleshooting.
Work in a team environment composed of Database, Systems, Network, and Storage administrators.
Qualifications:
Required:
Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, related field or commensurate experience.
5 years of experience as a SQL Server DBA.
Experience working with SQL Server Always On Availability Groups.
Knowledge of performance tuning and index management.
Understanding of database security principles and access control.
Proficiency in basic T-SQL programming.
Experience with database backup and recovery operations.
Basic knowledge of Windows Server and networking concepts.
Familiarity with monitoring tools such as SQL Server Management Studio and Performance Monitor.
Desired:
Experience utilizing command-line interfaces, scripting, and queries. Experience with task automation via PowerShell.
Experience with other database systems such as Oracle, MariaDB, PostgreSQL, or Greenplum.
MCSA: SQL Server Administration (current version).
MS SQL SSIS, SSRP.
Experience working in Relativity environment and working in Nuix.
