SUMMARY:
The Senior Sanitation Manager will oversee and enhance our sanitation operations. This role is crucial for maintaining the highest standards of hygiene and compliance within our facilities. The ideal candidate will lead a team, develop sanitation protocols, and ensure adherence to industry regulations.
DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supervise and mentor the sanitation team, fostering a culture of safety and compliance.
- Develop, implement, and continuously improve sanitation procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, and federal regulations.
- Conduct regular training sessions for staff on sanitation practices, safety measures, and regulatory requirements.
- Perform routine audits and inspections of sanitation practices and facilities, ensuring adherence to quality standards.
- Identify areas for improvement in sanitation processes and develop solutions to address any issues.
- Work closely with production, quality assurance, and maintenance teams to ensure alignment on sanitation practices.
- Maintain accurate records of sanitation activities, including chemical usage, cleaning schedules, and compliance audits.
- Oversee the sanitation budget, ensuring efficient use of resources and cost-effective solutions.
- Stay up-to-date with sanitation regulations and industry standards to ensure compliance and implement best practices.
- Performs other related duties as assigned by management.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with the organization's policies and applicable laws.
- Responsibilities include interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; rewarding and disciplining employees; addressing complaints and resolving problems.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Bachelor’s degree in Food Science, Environmental Science, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in sanitation management, preferably in a manufacturing or food production environment.
- Strong knowledge of sanitation regulations and safety standards.
- Proven leadership skills with the ability to motivate and manage a diverse team.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office and sanitation management software.
- Certification in sanitation or food safety (e.g., HACCP, SQF).
