What are the responsibilities and job description for the Growth Director position at Cactus?
Cactus is seeking a high-energy leader to help drive our agency new business efforts and take the agency to the next level. Working in close partnership with the agency leadership team, our president/CMO and marketing manager, you will play a pivotal role in the future of Cactus by developing, leading and executing our agency new business plan. Elevating the profile of Cactus and our work, getting us in front of right-fit client prospects where we have a right to win, and defining a winning approach to new business pitches that contributes to the agency’s overall financial success.
Essential Duties/Responsibilities:
- Serve as the first face for Cactus agency new business activity, and as the main contact and driver of all agency RFP responses and pitch processes
- Lead the collaborative annual development process to build out the agency’s new business plan, securing leadership team alignment and approval. Engage the integrated resources of the agency to execute on the approved new business plan, measure it, and optimize it
- Conduct targeted outbound prospecting in the agency’s key verticals, including development of campaign strategy, thought leadership/content creation, message distribution, campaign measurement, optimization and follow up plans
- Active outreach and general relationship building with brand side marketing leaders who could be prospective client partners for the agency
- Quarterly email outreach, annual face-to-face contact, and general relationship building with agency search consultants
- Regular progress reports to agency leadership team – as well as quarterly share outs to agency on our new biz plan progress
- Drive more differentiated storytelling for the agency across owned/earned/paid messaging channels to elevate our profile with brand side marketing leaders
- Represent the agency at industry conferences in agency new business space, as well as in our key client verticals
- Manage, mentor and guide career path development for agency marketing manager
- Oversight of external PR resources, awards show entry process, organic social content, thought leadership output across our verticals, speaking engagements, outbound email, search and LinkedIn campaigns
Job Requirements:
- 10 years experience working in a creative agency environment either in a marketing/business development role and/or account leadership capacity
- Outstanding interpersonal, communication and presentation skills
- Energetic, collaborative, entrepreneurial, self-starter, resourceful problem solver
- Insatiably curious about client business, strong interrogatory skills to qualify leads
- Strategic thinker, with the ability to craft compelling agency stories
- Conversant in technologies and digital marketing tools essential to prospecting, lead nurture, CRM and business development success
Salary : $150,000 - $160,000
