AREA: ALL WAREHOUSES
POSITION: FORKLIFT DRIVER
REPORTS TO: WAREHOUSE SUPERVISOR
OCCUPATION DESCRIPTION: Use forklifts to move materials around a warehouse, following the instructions given by the warehouse supervisor. Lead and direct a loading crew to load and offload trucks.
KNOWLEDGE:
- Knowledge, experience and certification as a forklift driver.
- Good oral communication skills.
SKILLS:
- Basic mathematics skills.
- Excellent spatial reasoning skills
- Bilingual in English and Spanish preferred
- Attention to detail
ABILITIES:
- Ability to follow instructions.
- Verbal and written communication
- Ability to fill out required daily reports and provide specific details pertinent to each job performed.
- Ability to lift 80 Lb loads.
- Extent Flexibility - The ability to bend, stretch, twist, or reach with your body, arms, and/or legs.
- Static Strength - The ability to exert maximum muscle force to lift, push, pull, or carry objects.
- Trunk Strength - The ability to use your abdominal and lower back muscles to support part of the body repeatedly or continuously over time without 'giving out' or fatiguing
- Ability to work closely with others as a team and lead individual crew on daily teamwork tasks.
TASKS AND ACTIVITIES:
- Carry out the activities requested by the Warehouse Supervisor, including, but not limited to the trailer loading and unloading, and location of products in the warehouse.
- In case the operator detects any condition in the warehouse, which does not allow the normal execution of the activities, such as wrong information in the I-number, change of locations, marks that do not match, etc., he must report the condition immediately to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Keep all the warehouse areas and its surroundings clean.
- Ensure that all the products in the plant warehouse are labeled, organized and well identified.
- Report his/her daily production results to the Warehouse Supervisor, including number of bags, supersacks or boxes processed, exact weights, etc.
- In case the forklift operator detects any condition in the Annex, which does not allow the normal execution of the production activities, such as breakdowns or lack of tools or product, he must report the condition immediately to the Warehouse Supervisor.
- Follow the instructions given by the Warehouse Supervisor, in relation to the job.
- Fill out all appropriate daily logs and forms that pertain to the work completed and turn into warehouse supervisor.
