ENGINEERING TECHNICIAN
Cadre, LLC seeks to welcome an Engineering Technician to their team in the Lexington Park, Maryland area. The candidate will be required to be onsite and present with no remote or telework opportunity. The successful candidate will provide on-aircraft test configuration support locally and travel to fleet locations to perform aircraft modifications in accordance with approved technical directives.
ROLES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Our ideal expert must have experience working with small teams, and the ability to interact well with both government customers and senior managers. The candidate will assist the aircraft modification coordinator with planning, scheduling, fleet squadron coordination, and modification site facilities setup/management.
In preparation for each aircraft modification period, the candidate will contribute to and review modification status/schedule briefing materials and attend modification planning meetings to identify team composition, modification resource requirements, documentation requirements, and travel requirements. The travel for this position is estimated at approximately 75%, dependent on fleet deployment and operational commitments. Travel is CONUS (predominately East Coast with some West Coast travel) and OCONUS.
The candidate will prepare support equipment, media, and spare components, and perform integrity checks, while maintaining configuration control during the modification efforts. They will operate Windows and Linux based information systems to perform software updating of weapon system line replaceable assemblies, both on aircraft and planeside in accordance with the technical directive installation data package. As part of a modification team, the candidate will also perform quality assurance functions associated with the installation data package to ensure modification compliance with the technical directive. Additionally, they will perform an operational checkout of the weapon system in accordance with the applicable Interactive Electronic Technical Manual Data Module procedures. An ability to perform weapon system troubleshooting to help identify the root cause of any issues observed during the operational checks is required.
REQUIREMENTS
A high school diploma or equivalency certification and completion of a technical school; trade school; armed services technical school curriculum or course of training in electricity, electronics, avionics, mechanics, or engineering technology, or completion of at least 30 semester hours (45 quarter hours) of course studies at an accredited college or university in an engineering, scientific, or technical curriculum is required.
A minimum of four years of professional experience in performing technical and/or engineering support functions is required, with a minimum of two of the four years performing engineering and/or technical functions with respect to any of the following Airborne Early Warning functional areas: radar, tracking, navigation, electronic support measures, display, data extraction, systems control, digital data bus controller, file control, correlation and association, report processing, data links, mechanical/hydraulic, engines, and electrical is required.
Proficiency with the Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, and Power Point) and similar computer–based productivity applications is required.
The applicant selected must possess a final DoD Top Secret Clearance with a background investigation completed within the last five years.
PREFERRED SKILLS
The professional hired for this position ideally possesses aircraft weapon system maintenance, troubleshooting, and operation experience; system software updating and configuration management experience; ability to work in a team environment and effectively communicate with teammates and customer personnel, and critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
