As a Machinist, you will plan, set-up, operate and make tool adjustments to cut and shape all types of metals and synthetics using manual (e.g. lathes, mills and grinders) and EZ Track computerized machine shop equipment. You will work from blueprints, process sheets and sketches to perform production tasks and may communicate with engineers to better understand the purpose of a part assembly. With a keen eye toward quality, you will check and inspect machining operations against specified tolerances. And focused on productivity, you may identify and repair minor machine malfunctions.
Continuous improvement is expected and encouraged. What we do is complex and requires collaboration, teamwork, and collective brainpower focused on success.

Responsibilities
- Works independently from complex blueprints, written or verbal instructions to fabricate, alter, or repair complex parts with close tolerances and impactful costs. Including fabricating own tooling and fixtures as needed.
- Check/adjust machinery and tooling to maintain critical dimensions.
- Plan sequence of operations using detailed knowledge of machinery and its capabilities to determine best method for manufacture of parts.
- Performs highly diversified machining operations requiring progressive steps.
- Utilizes trigonometry to calculate complex, compound angles and dimensions.
- Checks own work using precision measuring equipment.
Minimum:
- High School diploma or accredited GED.
- Exposure to machining environment, including past/current machining coursework.
- Excellent math skills including trigonometry and geometry.
- This position requires access to technology, materials, software or hardware that is controlled by US export laws. In order to be eligible for this position, you must be a “US Person” under US export laws (or eligible for approval under a U.S. Government export license).
- 2 years experience as a machinist.
- 2 years experience working on Bridgeport milling machines.
- 2 Lathe experience.
- Good computer skills (basic MicroSoft Office knowledge).
- Experience in defense, aerospace, or military environment.
