Cafe Zaffri is brought to you by Chef Mary Attea and the award winning team behind The Musket Room and Raf's. Cafe Zaffri is an all-day restaurant, focused on Levantine cooking, located inside The Twenty Two, a London-based hotel and members club making its US debut in Union Square. In addition to the dining room at Cafe Zaffri, our operations at The Twenty Two include a bar and lounge, a private members club, and a nightclub.
Position Overview
We are looking for a dedicated and detail-oriented Bar Prep team member to support our bar operations. This role is essential in maintaining the efficiency of our beverage program by preparing ingredients, batching cocktails, and keeping the bar well-organized. The Bar Prep team member will support all bar outlets at The Twenty Two, and will report to the Bar Manager and Head Bartender. This role is full-time, five days per week, with flexible daytime hours.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Juice fresh ingredients and batch cocktails as directed.
- Execute infusions and milk punch clarification techniques.
- Maintain clear and professional communication with the Bar Manager, Head Bartender, and other team members.
- Assist in the execution and organization of the beverage program.
- Ensure prep tasks are completed efficiently and up to standard.
- Move and organize cases of liquor and maintain the bar room when prep work is finished.
- Follow proper food and beverage preparation measurements.
- Keep the prep area clean, organized, and compliant with health and safety regulations.
- Maintains compliance with all health, safety, and sanitation standards and all applicable city, state, and federal regulations.
- Maintains complete knowledge of Cafe Zaffri and The Twenty Two's policies and procedures and ensure that all practices and policies are being upheld.
- Attends mandatory meetings, including staff meetings, leadership meetings, etc.
- Adheres to posted schedules.
- Completes other duties as assigned by management.
Preferred Skills & Equipment Familiarity
- Experience using a dehydrator, Spinzall, Cryovac, Vitamix is preferred.
- Ability to work independently and manage time efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and organization skills.
Qualifications
- Basic understanding of measurements and food preparation.
- At least 1 year of bar prep or food preparation experience.
- Fluency in written and spoken English.
- High school diploma or GED.
- Ability to work a variable schedule including nights, weekends, and holidays, per the needs of the business.
- Good time management, organizational skills, and problem-solving skills.
- Adaptable in fast-paced and challenging work environment.
- Polished personal presentation that meets Company standards.
- Passion for exceptional hospitality, food, and beverage.
