What are the responsibilities and job description for the Bar Prep position at The Dynamo Room?
Dynamo Room is a brand new steak house located at the recently developed Penn Station District in Manhattan.
The raw bar & grill is the newest project from Sunday Hospitality (Rule of Thirds, Sunday In Brooklyn, Cafe Chelsea, Hotel Chelsea Lobby Bar, El Quijote, Bedford Post Inn), opening in April 2025.
We are currently hiring for all positions in FOH and BOH, with positions starting in March.

Position Summary
Bar Preps are responsible for supporting the bar team by cultivation and curation of the juices, batches and syrups utilized throughout daily service, adhering to proper measurements for aforementioned service mise, maintaining cleanliness and supply pars for all beverages, ice garnish and other service needs, organizing and maintaining any area utilized for preparation of aforementioned juices, syrups, tinctures, batches, etc.
Service
- Maintains cleanliness of lounge tables, bar area, service areas and equipment.
- Stocks all wares and equipment needed for service.
- Assists in controlling inventory for restaurant operation supplies.
- Works with Bartender to continuously improve standard operating procedures.
- Maintains warmth and hospitality in all correspondence with guests.
- Completes opening and closing side work checklists for shift daily.
- Communicates with the kitchen if utilizing any kitchen tools for bar use.
- Updates knowledge and skills by participating in staff training opportunities.
- Is a team player—supports and assists fellow team members whenever possible.
- Completes other duties as assigned by management.
- Communicates all necessary guest information with the team to set everyone up for success (allergy alerts, VIPs, special requests, celebrations, etc.).
Sanitation, Hygiene, and Safety
- Maintains and strictly abides by state sanitation/health regulations and restaurant requirements and procedures.
- Maintains sanitation to Department of Health standards; keeps work area clean and organized.
- Maintains complete knowledge of correct maintenance and use of equipment; uses equipment and tools only as intended, properly and safely.
- Inspects the cleanliness and organization of the line and workstations; rectifies any deficiencies.
- Inspects the cleanliness and working condition of all tools, equipment, and supplies, ensuring everything complies with standards.
- Informs manager on duty immediately of any DOH or OSHA/workplace safety violations.
- Maintains proper storage procedures as specified by Department of Health requirements
- Commits to passionate, intense, uncompromisingly high-quality hospitality and guest experience.

Experience/Education
- Minimum 1 year experience in a high-volume restaurant.
- NYC Food Protection Certificate (Food Handler’s) preferred.
