Job Summary:
The Production Assistant will play a key role in the production process by assisting with the packaging and flavoring of organic coffee, ensuring that each batch meets the company's high-quality standards. This includes preparing raw materials, operating machinery, and monitoring production timelines to guarantee fresh, flavorful coffee products.
- Full time (35-40 hours per week) * Monday through Thursday 6:00am-4:00pm (day shift)
Duties/Responsibilities:
- Production and packaging of organic coffee * Individually labeling bags with preprinted labels, filling bags manually and using machinery, grinding, boxing and flavoring roasted coffee.
- Rotation in all production positions as needed and scheduled by Production Manager. * Cleaning of equipment and work areas, performing frequent equipment checks.
- Receiving green coffee and other product deliveries using a forklift as needed, preparing cartons for shipment via UPS.
- Ability to maintain organic integrity of production area and follow organic certification and GMP/FSMA procedures.
- Other duties assigned and necessary.
Position Requirements:
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills; should be adept at problem solving, able to use time wisely, and able to work well in a team environment with the ability to work independently.
- Legible handwriting is required for writing on order forms and other written communications.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to safely lift 50 pounds on a regular basis using the team lift method.
- Basic computer knowledge
- Food handlers permit.
- Forklift training and certification a plus but not required.
- Ability to tolerate noise and strong aroma.
- Requires regular twisting, bending, squatting, kneeling, stretching, standing, walking, and sitting.
- Valid driver’s license.
