What You’ll Do:
The Accounting Manager for Parsable will oversee daily accounting operations, including managing customer accounts, performing sales contract analysis, and ensuring accurate financial reporting. This role will handle month-end close activities, reconcile accounts, and collaborate closely with the CFO and Corporate Controller. In addition, the Accounting Manager will track financial performance, calculate and remit sales taxes, and support audits and tax filings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform sales contract analysis review and prepare related revenue schedules.
- Ensure contracts have been accurately recorded.
- Manage customer accounts, including processing invoices and managing customer collections.
- Perform all month-end close activities including journal entries, accruals and reconciliations.
- Manage the daily accounting operations including accounts receivable, general ledger and treasury.
- Consolidate monthly, quarterly and annual financials and explain variances from prior month and expectations.
- Track ARR on customer by customer basis.
- Utilize Avalara to calculate and pay sales taxes as required.
- Collaborate closely with the CFO and Corporate Controller as the lead accounting resource for the Parsable division.
- Work with auditors and tax preparers and provide support to the audit, compliance and tax return process.
What We’re Looking For:
- Minimum 3 years of proven accounting experience required.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting is required.
- Knowledge of US GAAP as well as SaaS accounting and financial reporting standards.
- Hands on and proactive approach to problem solving in addition to being highly detail-oriented and the ability to multitask, all while understanding the big picture.
- Experience at a quickly growing SaaS startup in which you were the “owner” of the accounting function preferred.
- Ability to design, document and implement appropriate new policies and procedures.
- A highly productive self-starter with a very strong work ethic and commitment to excellence.
- Ability to work independently.
- Advanced Excel skills required, Salesforce.com and experience using Zoho, Expensify and Avalara is preferable.
Job Location: US Remote. Candidate must reside in and be authorized to work in the US.
