Summary: The client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the daily operations of the AP, AR, and Payroll teams. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who brings strong technical accounting knowledge, people management experience, and a collaborative approach to support a dynamic and mission-driven organization. Key Responsibilities:

Summary: The client is seeking an experienced Accounting Manager to lead the daily operations of the AP, AR, and Payroll teams. This role is ideal for a hands-on leader who brings strong technical accounting knowledge, people management experience, and a collaborative approach to support a dynamic and mission-driven organization. Key Responsibilities:
- Supervise and lead a team of 8 (3 AP, 3 AR, 2 Payroll), ensuring efficient and accurate processing of transactions
- Manage day-to-day accounting functions, including oversight of accounts payable, accounts receivable, and payroll
- Coordinate and support the month-end close process, including journal entry review and financial reporting
- Ensure compliance with GAAP and nonprofit accounting standards
- Oversee Excel-based reconciliations completed by the team
- Collaborate with departments across retail, healthcare, cleaning, and grant-funded programs
- Provide occasional support for payroll processing using UKG, and serve as backup as needed
- Assist with the organization's transition from Blackbaud Financial Edge to Sage or Microsoft Dynamics
- Identify opportunities for process improvements and team development
- Maintain flexibility in a hybrid work environment, with three in-office days per week
- Minimum of 2 years of experience managing or supervising accounting staff
- Strong foundation in GAAP
- Proven experience in month-end close processes
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel
- Ability to delegate, review work, and lead a team effectively
- Willingness to be hands-on and -roll up sleeves- when needed
- Experience in nonprofit accounting
- Exposure to federal grants, especially workforce development programs
- Familiarity with UKG payroll systems
- Experience with Sage or Microsoft Dynamics
- Background in retail operations or contract-based service industries
