Job Description
We are looking for a Business Intelligence (BI) Specialist to support Tableau Desktop and Server users by aiding in creating, publishing, and troubleshooting analyses. This position will be a full-time contract and onsite in downtown Pittsburgh, PA.
What You’ll Do
Tableau Administration and Development
Troubleshoot Tableau Desktop and Server issues, submitting support tickets as needed
Refine best practices for analyst workflows
Automate Tableau Server processes using Python, PowerShell, REST API, and GraphQL
Administer Tableau Server sites and build dashboards using PostgreSQL data
Configure, test, and deploy new data pipelines
Deliver training on Tableau features and best practices
Rundeck Administration
Configure and monitor Rundeck services for capacity and performance
Troubleshoot issues and collaborate with support to resolve them
Maintain Rundeck logs and performance metrics
Assist in evaluating and configuring Rundeck runner architecture
Power BI Support
Develop Power BI workflows and governance
Provide support for Power BI analysts in creating visualizations and troubleshooting issues
Other Responsibilities
Support Identity Access Management (IAM) tools, such as Okta and Microsoft Entra ID
Conduct training sessions to encourage BI tool adoption
Assist in automating ETL and other jobs in Rundeck
Contribute to cross-functional initiatives and support evolving organizational needs as required
What You'll Need
Expertise in Tableau, including Tableau Server and Desktop
Familiarity with relational databases (Oracle, SQL Server) and SQL scripting
Understanding of data modeling techniques and visual reporting best practices
Experience with Python, PowerShell, and automation tools
Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
Ability to multitask, work independently, and adapt to changing priorities
Bachelor’s degree in a related field with 2 years of experience in human services programs.
At least 1 year of experience with Tableau and SQL.
Experience with Power BI, Rundeck, and Docker is a plus.
Equivalent combinations of education and experience are acceptable
Preferred Certifications
Tableau Desktop Specialist
Tableau Certified Data Analyst
Tableau Certified Associate
Tableau Server Architect
Willingness to obtain these certifications is encouraged.
Physical Demands
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state, and local standards
Sedentary work that involves sitting or remaining stationary most of the time with occasional need to move around the office to attend meetings, etc.
Ability to conduct repetitive tasks on a computer, utilizing a mouse, keyboard, and monitor
