We are looking for a Sandblast Operator to operate a wide variety of sandblasting machines. This position will be a full-time 8 month contract and on-site. 2nd shift Mon-Thurs 4:30pm-3am.
What You'll Do
Operates a wide variety of Sandblasting machines
Performs routine or repetitive operations in a manner, which will consistently meet quality requirements and production standards
Actively participates in continuous improvement activities
Works from drawings and/or specifications as well as Traveler instructions
Evaluates job performance compared to established production and quality standards
Makes suggestions to design new fixtures and for improvements to processes to enhance operations
Maintains files for set-up procedures and required tooling, as needed, to manufacture parts to specifications
Conducts quality checks through the use of fixed or adjustable precision measuring devices
Lubricates and cleans machines as necessary
Maintains work area in a neat and orderly condition. Works safely, and complies with all established safety rules and work practices
Complies with Company, Department, and quality policies and procedures as applicable
Keeps Operations Manager informed of job related problems and other information related to work activity
Maintains a positive attitude and promotes a “team” approach throughout the Department.
Performs multiple operations as required
Performs related work as apparent or assigned
What You'll Need
Required:
Ability to read blueprints and use measuring instruments
6 months to 2 years of Sandblasting experience in a job shop environment or related experience
Strong mechanical aptitude and problem solving skills
Willing to learn; acceptable to training
Steel Toe Shoes required
PPE will be provided
Preferred:
Microscope use

Employee is occasionally required to walk, sit, reach, balance, stoop, talk, hear.
Must occasionally lift and/or move 40 pounds
Ability to safely and successfully perform the essential job functions consistent with the ADA and other federal, state and local standards
