What are the responsibilities and job description for the IT Support Specialist I position at CAIRE Inc.?
In this role, you will provide maintenance of the computer desktop environment by problems, installing hardware and software solutions, and supporting the internal IT environment.
You will be responsible for administration and internal support of CAIRE Inc. PCs, printers, and related equipment. Tasks include end user support, and performing PC maintenance, upgrades and configurations.
Essential Functions

- Provide Tier 1 support and resolve problems to the end user’s satisfaction.
- Monitor and respond quickly and effectively to requests received through the IT helpdesk.
- Monitor Service Desk for tickets assigned to the queue and process first-in first-out based on priority.
- Modify configurations, utilities, software default settings, etc. for the local workstation.
- Utilize and maintain the helpdesk tracking software.
- Assist with onboarding of new users.
- Ensure each workstation has a computer, monitor, keyboard, mouse, hard drive, and any additional specialized equipment.
- Install, test and configure new workstations, peripheral equipment and software.
- Maintain inventory of all equipment, software and software licenses.
- Report issues to the Tier 2/3 for escalation.
- Manage PC setup and deployment for new employees using standard hardware, images and software.
- Assign users and computers to proper groups in Active Directory and Office 365
- Perform timely workstation hardware and software upgrades as required.
- Support all Production and Plant IT systems.
- Office 365 support, Microsoft Suite8x8 and Five9 VoIP phone system
- All other duties as assigned.
- Ability to manage several tasks at once and prioritize accordingly.

Work Environment
This job operates in a professional office environment. This role routinely uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers, filing cabinets and fax machines. Some nights and weekends required.

Required Education and Experience
- Associate’s degree in Computer Science.
- 2 years of relevant technical experience.
