Will provide analysis of blueprints, specifications, and other documentation to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates for products, projects, or services. Must learn and understand how to interpret safety hazards related to the work and effectively implement a construction strategy. The Estimator may be required to work in a plant operations or construction jobsite setting.
Responsibilities

- Review, and interpret bid packages from clients/owners.
- Conduct a pre-job checklist and define scope of work
- Perform quantity take offs. (concrete, site work, misc. steel, piping, etc.)
- Review and utilize RFP data to determine labor, material, and equipment needs
- Conducts site visits and attend pre-bid meetings to understand the project scope.
- Compute cost factors and prepare estimates used for management purposes such as planning, organizing, and scheduling work; preparing bids; selecting vendors or subcontractors; and determining cost effectiveness
- Consult with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates and resolve issues
- Interface with other individuals within the organization to obtain support and commitment to the cost estimates
- Must be capable of developing a plan on how to build and schedule the project with all input data.
- Promote interaction with estimating team by brainstorming constructability of project, maximizing creativity, analyzing production rates, and maximizing indirect costs to reduce duration.
- Prepare technical and commercial approach to proposal cost
- Ensure contract T&Cs are reviewed by appropriate counsel for exceptions or comments.
- Ability to lead the estimating efforts for large, multi-million dollar estimates, including cost and proposal preparation.
- Partners with estimating team to prepare and conduct project hand-off meetings between pursuit team and project management team.
- Occasional travel, including overnight stays
Qualifications:
- 5 years of experience in Concrete and Site Work Construction
- Experience primarily in the Gulf Coast Industrial Market
- Familiarity with Underground Piping (HDPE, CS, DI, etc.)
- Experience with Microsoft Office (excel, word, powerpoint, Revu Bluebeam)
- Experience with P6
- Strong technical writing skills.
Ability to communicate well within a Multi-Business Unit Operation, Clients, Subcontractors, and Vendors/Suppliers
Salary : $77,000 - $97,500
