ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY : Cal Poly Pomona Foundation is recruiting part-time Instructional Student Assistants to work in the Maximizing Engineering Potential, Women in Science and Engineering (MEP-WiSE) : Center for Gender, Diversity & Student Excellence. This position is funded by the Kellogg Legacy Project Endowment, under the direction of Dr. Lily Gossage, MEP-WiSE Director
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety) :
MEP-WiSE Instructional Student Assistant (ISA). MEP-WiSE is hiring 16 Instructional Student Assistants (Tutors and Supplemental Instruction Facilitators) for the 2024-2025 academic year. ISA will provide academic enrichment support for students in STEM courses considered foundation, gateway, bottleneck, or deemed challenging. Courses below neither exclusive nor final and will be based on historical course pass-rate and student demand.

- Chemical Engineering : CHE 2021
- Civil Engineering : CE 2041
- Electrical Engineering : ECE 1101, 2101
- Mechanical Engineering : ME 2141, 2191
ADDITIONAL EXPECTATIONS
Tutors will support math, physics, and engineering courses. Supplemental Instruction Facilitators will support designated courses. Expected responsibilities include :

ABOUT US : As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Foundation offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality1500 management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.
The Foundation also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Foundation and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics and the Norman J. Priest Scholarship. In addition, the Foundation administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Foundation contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.
