Position Description
Metropolitan's Water Quality Section, Laboratory Services Unit, Quality Assurance (QA) and Data Management Team has two (2) jobs opening for students with Computer Science, Computer Information System, or Management Information System majors. This position will require a time commitment of approximately 15-20 hours per week, Monday through Friday, between 7 : 00 am to 4 : 30 pm, in four-hour blocks of time or more. For the summer months, 20-30 hours may be arranged.
Duties
Under the guidance of QA or information technology professionals, the selected Co-Op student(s) will provide technical support in the development of Water Quality computer (client-server or web) applications and dashboards. Student(s) will assist in the requirements gathering, development, functional enhancement, maintenance and debugging of existing Water Quality laboratory applications, as well as support the QA / QC activities in the water quality laboratory.
Required Skills and / or Coursework
Applicants must be currently enrolled in an accredited four-year degree program in Computer Science or Computer Information Systems or Management Information System. A minimum overall GPA of 2.5 or better in relevant major coursework (i.e., computer science / computer information systems / management information system) is required.
