ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY : The Marketing Intern (Student Assistant) will work closely with their supervisor and the marketing peer team to drive strategic, impactful marketing initiatives while upholding the Career Center's brand identity. The intern will collaborate with the Career Center team to ensure that marketing efforts align with the department's objectives and the needs of students. This role is open to all students, with a particular emphasis on those pursuing degrees in marketing, communications, public relations, business, or related fields.
The Career Center provides all students and alumni with a connecting link between campus life and employment. Programs, services, and information assist students with career development and the career entry process. Through outreach to the total Cal Poly Pomona community, the Career Center strives to enhance student development and retention leading to successful graduation and career entry.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety) :
- Develop and execute creative and targeted marketing strategies that engage a broad audience, including the campus community, alumni, and professional partners.
- Lead a peer team in content creation, social media, and digital marketing efforts :
- Create, manage, and schedule engaging content for campus marketing materials, the Career Center website, social media channels (Instagram, LinkedIn, YouTube, TikTok, and Facebook), and e-marketing campaigns.
- Design promotional materials such as flyers, posters, and other marketing assets for events and programs.
- Organize and maintain a library of marketing materials (photos, videos, graphics, written content, etc.)
- Continuously explore creative ways to engage diverse audiences.
- Aid in tracking and analyzing marketing efforts including media metrics to gauge engagement and success.
- Provide general support to the marketing team as needed.

ABOUT US : As the largest employer of students on the Cal Poly Pomona campus, the Foundation offers valuable work experience and hands-on training to approximately 1,500 Cal Poly Pomona students each year. The Foundation offers positions in various fields; whether it is in the area of technology, science, retail, culinary arts, hospitality management, leadership or research grants, these student employees participate in Cal Poly Pomona's learn-by-doing philosophy and acquire practical skills in their designated field of study.
The Foundation also contributes operating support to nearly 1,100 Foundation and scholarship programs every year, including Bronco Athletics. In addition, the Foundation administers grants and contracts, contributes to campus security, and supports several university publications. The Foundation contributes over $1 million annually to Cal Poly Pomona.
