ANNOUNCEMENT OF POSITION VACANCY
SUMMARY: The Student Web Assistant will support web-related tasks across multiple WordPress websites. Responsibilities include updating and proofreading website content, designing and formatting HTML emails, and optimizing PDFs for web use. This role works under the guidance of the Head of Marketing and Web to maintain a high standard of digital content.
SOME OF THE THINGS THAT YOU WILL GET TO DO (this is just a small sampling of work variety):
- Create engaging content for website blogs.
- Design and convert emails into HTML format.
- Develop and edit digital content for web use.
- Convert and ensure accessibility of PDF documents.
- Creating online forms
- Update and maintain WordPress websites.
- Perform other duties as needed.
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Familiarity with updating WordPress websites.
- Knowledge of HTML, CSS.
- Proficiency in design tools such as Canva, Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, or equivalent.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to create and edit digital content.
- Understanding of web accessibility standards
- Enrolled as a full-time student at Cal Poly Pomona.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- At least one year of experience or classroom experience using WordPress or web technologies.
- Willingness to expand knowledge of WordPress and CMS systems.
- Familiarity with PDF accessibility remediation.
- Enthusiasm for learning more about web design and web accessibility.
- Portfolio or school projects showcasing experience in web design, development, or accessibility.
- Experience creating online forms using Formstack or similar programs.
