Job Description and Duties The Accounting Administrator (AA) I (Specialist) serves as a Subject Matter Expert (SME) in the development of job aids and other learning materials for FI$Cal users for the accounting modules, including accounts payable, accounts receivable and general ledger modules. The AA I (Specialist) will support internal and external users on procedures and department engagement activities as requested. The incumbent will participate in and provide SME support to multidisciplinary teams and workgroups and is responsible for training and support of internal staff and external FI$Cal users. You will find additional information about the job in the Duty Statement. Working Conditions At FI$Cal, we offer a remote-centered position with the flexibility of telework for three or more days per week. In-office attendance is mandatory on designated days. Our office is located at 2000 Evergreen Street, Sacramento, CA. Candidates residing outside of California are welcome to interview, but proof of California residency is required before appointment. Please note, relocation and commute expenses are the responsibility of the employee. This position requires the ability to work under pressure to meet deadlines and may require excess hours to be worked. The incumbent should be available to travel as needed and is expected to perform functions and duties under the guidance of the Department of FISCal’s core values. The incumbent provides back-up, as necessary, to ensure continuity of departmental activities. This position requires prolonged sitting in an office-setting environment with the use of a telephone and personal computer. This position requires daily use of a copier, telephone, computer and general office equipment, as needed. This position may require the use of a hand-cart to transport documents and/or equipment over 20 pounds (i.e., laptop, computer, projector, reference manuals, solicitation documents, etc.). The FI$Cal Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) System enables the state to combine its accounting, budgeting, cash management, and procurement and contracting operation into a single, integrated financial management system. The FI$Cal ERP System eliminates the need for hundreds of independent legacy systems and department-specific applications that previously supported internal business operations of the state. Assembly Bill 156 (Stats. 2022, Ch. 569, Sec. 18 and 24 ) recognized the completion of the FI$Cal project and codified a “road map” of future work the Department of FISCal must achieve before 2032.
