Budget Analyst
Columbus, OH - Hybrid
12-month Contract-to-Hire
Job Summary:
The Budget Analyst will provide accounting support to the Markush, Reactions, and Global Sourcing and Partnerships department. Responsibilities include bookkeeping, monthly close, business system data entry, customer service, and general business system services. The role involves coordinating spending projects, tracking allocation changes, forecasting, and adjusting work plans to meet spending targets. The majority of work is performed using MS Excel, MS Power Suite (including PowerBI), and Outlook.
Job Responsibilities:
- Maintain accurate bookkeeping, reconciliations, and financial updates, ensuring compliance with policies and deadlines.
- Perform month-end close tasks, including accrual entries and financial reporting in line with GAAP.
- Manage accounts payable, invoice matching, and delinquent payments for Content Operations projects.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and financial tracking to meet business projections.
- Communicate and resolve financial inquiries with internal and external stakeholders.
- Analyze financial performance, review accounting procedures, and drive process improvements.
Job Requirements:
Education and Experience
- Minimum of an Associate’s degree or equivalent experience in bookkeeping and/or accounting.
- Experience with computerized general ledger, accounts payable, variance analysis, balance sheets, and expense accounts.
- Knowledge of Content Operations processing is helpful.
Technical Skills
- High level of skill with MS Excel (including macros, XLOOKUP, and creation of novel calculators and reports).
- Demonstrated experience with MS Office applications (specifically Outlook and Word).
- Familiarity with PowerBI, Power Platform, and MS Dataverse preferred.
- Working knowledge of accounting/bookkeeping required.
