Case Management Administrative Associate - Executive Benefits
Full Time, 6-month contract with likely extension and/or possible conversion
Remote in Nebraska, Alabama, Ohio, or Missouri
Job Summary:
Our insurance client's Executive Benefits Team helps employers finance employee retirement benefits. They aim to simplify processes and provide exceptional products and services. This role focuses on managing relationships with large partner offices to sell and implement new business. It requires independent problem-solving, research skills, and urgency in resolving transaction requirements. The Case Management Associate must ensure all aspects of each new case are in good order before premiums are received. The team targets an annual premium of $1 billion .
Responsibilities:
- Manage New Business Process: Oversee the entire new business process for assigned relationships and incoming business. This involves interacting with various internal teams and key partner (TPA) offices. The products are complex, with requirements varying by product type, state, and purchaser. You will manage multiple cases simultaneously, including time-sensitive variable cases, with an average premium of $5 million per case.
- Daily Correspondence: Communicate daily with wholesalers, TPA, and broker offices on new business cases.
- Documentation: Ensure state variations and additional documents, such as 1035 Exchange paperwork, are included.
- Agent Licensing: Verify agent licensing and appointments. Coordinate with the TPA/broker and Licensing team if licensing is incomplete.
- Pricing Validation: Work with the pricing actuary to validate pricing for each case, ensuring all paperwork aligns with assumptions.
- Illustrations: Coordinate with the Illustration team to finalize illustrations.
- Census Review: Review census data against consents, face amounts, premiums, birthdays, social security numbers, fund selection, and smoker status. Verify amounts are within limits or obtain necessary exceptions.
- Underwriting Process: Work with the underwriting department and TPA/broker offices to process underwritten business. Order medical records, exams, and lab work for applicants. Communicate with agencies for follow-up evidence, offers, and questions during underwriting. Monitor the expiration of evidence before issuing policies. Ensure cases progress efficiently from submission to placement with superior service.
- Inquiry Resolution: Resolve inquiries with quality, accuracy, and professionalism. Close files after cases are funded, assemble policies for delivery, follow up on requirements, and image files. Ensure delivery requirements are received timely. Manage daily workload with an emphasis on maintaining partner relationships and quality standards.
Minimum Qualifications:
- At least 1 year of experience working independently in a fast-paced, multi-faceted environment, focusing on critical high-value deliverables.
- Excellent verbal and written communication, customer service, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work well within a team.
- Ability to master several different systems and repositories of information to issue cases seamlessly.
- High level of attention to detail.
- Ability to adapt easily to a quickly changing environment.
Preferred Qualifications:
- 1 years of experience in insurance, annuity, retirement, finance, or a Bachelor’s degree in business or a related field.
- Ability to meet the needs of a diverse customer group and handle challenging conversations.
- Demonstrated ability to take initiative and lead projects or tasks to successful completion, ensuring consistent and detailed communication throughout.
- Maintain productivity and quality at or above the team standard
- Strong team player, supportive of change when needed.
