Job Overview:
The Manufacturing Estimator is responsible for evaluating project requirements, analyzing costs, and creating accurate estimates for manufacturing processes. This role regularly collaborates with various teams including production, engineering, procurement, and management to ensure cost-effective and efficient project execution.
Key Responsibilities:
- Project Analysis: Review project specifications, blueprints, and technical documents to understand requirements and scope.
- Cost Estimation: Utilize specialized software and tools to calculate costs for materials, labor, equipment, and overheads required for manufacturing projects.
- Data Analysis: Analyze historical data, market trends, and supplier information to determine accurate cost projections.
- Collaboration: Work closely with engineering, production, and procurement teams to gather essential data and insights for accurate estimations.
- Risk Assessment: Identify potential risks and contingencies in manufacturing processes that may impact cost and project timelines.
- Documentation: Prepare detailed and comprehensive cost estimates, proposals, and reports for management review and client presentations.
- Continuous Improvement: Contribute to the improvement of estimation processes by suggesting enhancements, implementing best practices, and staying updated with industry standards.
- Vendor Relations: Liaise with suppliers and vendors to obtain quotes, negotiate pricing, and ensure timely delivery of materials and services.
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in engineering, finance, or a related field preferred. Relevant certifications or specialized training are preferred.
- Proven experience (typically 3-5 years) in manufacturing estimation or a related role within the manufacturing industry, preferred.
- Proficiency in estimation software, spreadsheets, and enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems.
- Strong analytical skills with attention to detail and the ability to interpret complex technical documents.
- Excellent communication skills to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and present findings to stakeholders.
- Negotiation skills for dealing with suppliers and vendors.
- Ability to work under pressure and manage multiple projects simultaneously.

Physical Requirements:

· Must have the ability to effectively communicate, both verbally and in writing, using hearing, speaking, and listening skills.
