We are currently seeking an entry level Machine Operator for our Westminster, MD location. A great opportunity for someone who would like to further develop a career in Manufacturing.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Operate press to bend and punch steel using custom dies
- Quality check parts using checking devices and fixtures
- Read measuring devices such as tape measure, protractor, caliper, and scale
- Willing to rotate to different work stations as production needs require
- Log production data into computer system
- Achieve and maintain production rates
- Use PPE specific to job
Job Skills & Qualifications:
- Previous Machine Operator Experience required
- Working knowledge of metal materials required
- Must have a manufacturing background; willingness to train
- Ability to read and follow work instructions
- Ability to read gauges and other measurement tools to ensure tolerances
- Able to stand for up to 10 hours during a shift
- Lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Must pass pre-employment drug screen
- A background in production environment required Experience working in a production environment preferred
Physical requirements/Working conditions:
- Must be able to wear personal protective gear most of the day.
- Must be able to see and respond to dangerous situations.
- Working around moving machinery/heavy equipment.
- Must be able to lift and carry or otherwise move 50 pounds regularly.
- Traverse slippery and uneven walking surfaces.
- High level of eye to hand coordination.
- Exposure to excessive, continuous noise.
- Must be able to work in cold environments and on concrete floors
Education and Preferred Experience:
- High school diploma or GED
- A background in a production environment required
Physical Requirements:
- Must be able to lift up to 65 pounds at times.
Work Environment:
- Must be comfortable working in a non-climate-controlled environment (hot and cold)
