Overview
We are seeking a skilled and detail-oriented Press Operator to join our busy Print Shop. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in print production and graphic design, with a keen eye for quality and precision. As a Press Operator, you will be responsible for operating various printing presses, ensuring high-quality output while adhering to production schedules. This role is crucial in delivering exceptional print materials that meet our clients' specifications. The ability to multitask and work efficiently in a high-paced environment is essential.
Responsibilities:
- Operate and maintain printing presses to produce high-quality printed materials.
- Set up press equipment according to job specifications and ensure proper alignment and registration.
- Monitor the printing process for quality control, making adjustments as necessary to maintain standards.
- Collaborate with the prepress team to ensure designs are correctly prepared for printing.
- Conduct routine maintenance on press equipment to ensure optimal performance.
- Assist in troubleshooting any issues that arise during the printing process.
- Maintain a clean and organized work environment, adhering to safety protocols, including taking out trash at the end of every shift.
- Work closely with graphic designers to understand layout design and typography requirements.
- Multitask effectively and manage various responsibilities in a high-paced production environment.
Experience:
- Proven experience as a Press Operator or in a similar role within the printing industry.
- Proficiency in Adobe Creative Suite, with strong skills in graphic design and layout design.
- Familiarity with screen printing techniques and quality control processes.
- Knowledge of typography and print advertising principles is highly desirable.
- Experience operating forklifts is a plus.
- Strong attention to detail and ability to work under tight deadlines while maintaining quality standards.
- Must be able to multitask and work efficiently in a fast-paced environment.
