Position Summary
The Senior Accountant is a vital position on the finance team at Calderon Textiles. Of utmost importance in this role is a demonstrated ability to be self-directed in prioritizing important tasks while working with limited oversight, as well as acting in a fiduciary capacity to safeguard company assets and treat them in the company’s best interest at all times. Critical skills for this position include solid experience with GAAP accounting principles, clear communication, being a team player, maintaining confidentiality, detail-oriented, and acting with the highest degree of integrity.
 
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Complete daily cash, and bank reconciliations.
• Manage Loan Ledger/ Loan statements to intracompany secure drive
• Weekly review of Inventory Value Report, Vessel Report, and UPS invoices
• Daily tie out of Inventory and Inventory Received not vouchered accounts and research any discrepancies.
• Monthly update and review of Vouchers, Inventory Balancing, Value Report, and Vessel Report and proves prior months entries.
• Monthly calculation of customer rebates and Buying Group admin fees as assigned.
• Prepare financial statements, journal entries, and account reconciliations.
• Manage month-end and year-end closing processes, ensuring timely and accurate closing of financial periods.
• Support the assessment of internal controls and identifying potential risk areas.
• Perform regular reviews of financial data to provide insights and recommendations.
• Prepare monthly budget variance analyses and provide detailed explanations for deviations.
• Formulate and recommend improvements to accounting policies and procedures.
• Ensure adherence to all relevant accounting standards and regulations.
• Analyze existing accounting systems and recommend improvements to enhance efficiency and accuracy.
• Coordinate and support external audit processes by analyzing and scheduling general ledger accounts.
• Provide necessary documentation and reports to auditors.
• Ensure compliance with all legal and regulatory requirements to avoid potential legal challenges.
• Secure financial information by completing regular database backups and ensuring data integrity.
• Train and mentor other finance team members.

Qualifications:
• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field.
• Accounting certification is preferred.
• 3-5 years of experience in accounting, with a focus on financial reporting, budgeting, and audits.
• Advanced knowledge of accounting principles and experience with financial reporting is required.
• Strong knowledge of accounting software and financial systems.
• Excellent analytical skills with attention to detail.
• Strong leadership and project management abilities.
