Job Summary :
The Associate Accountant is primarily responsible for the accounts payable process as well as preparing journal entries and general tasks related to accounting for accruals, prepaid assets, fixed assets and other areas as needed. This role is also responsible for assisting the Finance department in creating accurate and timely financial records.
Duties and Responsibilities of the job :
- Primarily responsible for processing accounts payable invoices and payments
- Coordinate approval processes of all accounts payable invoices
- Identify invoices that are overdue or have not been received, coordinate with vendors on missing data
- Monthly preparation of journal entries, account analyses, and reconciliation of balance sheet accounts
- Responsible for the amortization of intangible assets and depreciation of fixed assets
- Responsible for reconciling prepaid and accrual accounts
- Perform certain intercompany accounting processes
- Manage vendor files and prepare 1099 forms annually
- Assist in credit card receipt audit, including verifying that receipts have been appropriately documented for credit card expenses
- Process employee expense reports
- Assist with tax and financial statement audits, including pulling invoices and data retrieval / organization
- Perform ad hoc analysis of accounting transactions and balance sheet accounts
- Other projects and duties as assigned

The salary range for this role is $50,000-$65,000 annually. It is important to Calero that potential candidates for this position understand that compensation depends on numerous factors including the geographic location where the role will be performed, skills required, experience, complexity, travel, and market rate.
