What are the responsibilities and job description for the Preschool Site Supervisor position at Calexico Neighborhood House?
Under the direction of the Preschool Program Director organize the Site Supervisor is responsible to implement curriculum development, staff development and supervision, care and learning activities for 3 – 5 year old children at assigned site. Coordinate site communications, programs and services to meet childcare needs and assure the safety and well-being of children. Train and supervise assigned personnel.
Essential Functions:
1. Responsible for compiling and maintenance of records in compliance with the State Department of Education regulations relating to day care or preschool regulations.
2. Responsible for written reports to Program Director and parents.
3. Train and evaluate the performance of assigned personnel, assign employee duties and review work to assure compliance with established guidelines and procedures.
4. Assure the health and safety of children following health and safety practices and procedures; oversee and participate in maintaining childcare center in a safe, orderly and clean manner.
5. Oversee and participate in the preparation, development, implementation and presentation of lesson plans, curriculum and instructional activities according to children needs and educational standards.
6. Responsible for review, assessment, and delivery of support service to children and parents enrolled in the program.
7. Responsible for planning, implementation and supervision of nutrition program including menu production submitting monthly claim form for assigned site in compliance with the State Department of Education Child Care Food Program Division.
8. Coordinate early care and education site communications, information and services between personnel, administrators, families, outside agencies and the public. Resolve child, staff and family issues and conflicts related to assigned childcare center in a proper and timely manner.
9. Act as substitute for the Preschool Program Director or Teacher as needed. Assume all duties and responsibilities as needed corresponding to the position.
10. Attend and participate in all meetings and trainings as assigned by Preschool Program Director.
11. Responsible for submitting quarterly fiscal reports to the State Department of Education Local Assistance Bureau.
12. Responsible for recruiting, interviewing and enrolling parent’s for day care and preschool program in compliance with State Department of Educational requirements.
13. Participate in cooperation with the preschool and CNH staff to include participation in agency community events and staff development activities as assigned.
14. Responsible to conduct monthly parent meetings.
15. Coordinate, attend and conduct various meetings as assigned, prepare and deliver oral presentations concerning program and services.
16. Responsible of doing other duties as assigned by supervisor to include recruitment activities for the successful program mission and objectives.
17. Perform clerical and non-instructional assignments as needed.
18. Drive a vehicle to conduct work or travel to sites.
19. Establish a good rapport with parents, co-workers, administrators and volunteers.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
1. Principles, practices and procedures involved in providing care and learning activities to 3- 5-year-old children.
2. Instructional techniques and strategies related to early childhood education.
3. Ability to devise and implement age appropriate lesson plans.
4. Ability to communicate effectively with children, staff and parents.
5. Must be able to speak and write fluently in English, and Spanish.
6. Ability to effectively supervise personnel.

Preferred Education and Experience:
1. Associates or Bachelor’s Degree in child development, psychology, sociology or related field.
2. Two or more years’ experience in the administration or supervision of a day care or preschool program.
