Qualifications
Applicants must meet the minimum qualifications and must submit a complete application packet to be considered. A complete application consists of the following:

- Copy of high school diploma or equivalent
- Operate a Windows based automated library system (including circulation of materials, Reserve items, interlibrary loan and the creation and maintenance of a borrower database).
- Accept interlibrary loan requests for books and articles from students and faculty.
- Sort and shelve library materials returned in bookdrop and used within the Library.
- Access institutional online system (Banner) for student information; place and remove Library Holds on student academic records.
- Greet and provide general information and assistance to students, faculty, staff and community customers.
- Assist students with Pharos networked printing (Print Card Dispenser, Print Manager, etc.).
- Assist students with STARS, MyCalhoun, and Blackboard.
- Assist students with online Library database access and EBSCOhost eBook access (emailing, printing, my account, etc.).
- Perform procedures for opening and closing the Library.
- Assist librarian in creating a list in MS Word of new Brewer Library books.
- Assist in withdrawing or relocating records for titles in Horizon, and other technical services processes with training provided.
- Assist in vacuuming/cleaning computer hardware including student workstations, VIP Room computers weekly.
- Read assigned book shelves (Book Stacks, Popular Book Shelf, and Child Development Shelf) and periodical shelves regularly.
- Troubleshoot equipment problems, including Xerox copier, Pharos printing system, and report any issues to full time staff.
- High School diploma or equivalent is required.
- Skill in operating a mouse to control a computer.
- Skill in operating a computer.
- Customer Service Orientation- A focus on being friendly and patient in responding to customer needs.
- Knowledge of community college policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of Library of Congress call numbers.
- Knowledge of Banner System and or a similar system.
- Knowledge of how wireless systems work.
- Knowledge of social media platforms and techniques.
- Skill in utilizing a multi-line phone system.
- Skill in operating a fax machine, copier, scanner, calculator printer, and typewriter.
- Skill in operating AV equipment.
- Skill in operating microfilm and microfiche reader.
- Skill in current student technologies used at the college.
- Ability to follow instructions and adhere to prescribed routines.
- Ability to operate an Integrated Library System such as Horizon.
- Ability to use Adobe Software.
- Ability to make decisions based on correspondence, data or other information.
- Ability to multi-task and prioritize issues.
- Ability to utilize email systems to communicate information.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision/work independently.
- Ability to operate in a professional manner at all times.
- Ability to operate Banner.
- Ability to operate a web browser and navigate the internet.

- Ability to work a flexible schedule when necessary, occasionally swapping evenings with Wednesday/Thursday part time circulation assistant.
