Summary of Position
The Process Operator is responsible for the safe and efficient operation of the ADR and/or crushing and conveying plants, performing limited maintenance duties and assisting the maintenance department with mechanical issues.
Essential Functions:
- Perform daily equipment inspections to identify, minimize, and correct safety hazards and maintain equipment properly.
- Operate a CAT 988XK Loader safely and efficiently to feed the crushing system.
- Keep proper records and production schedules for submitting reports on production and maintenance as directed by supervision.
- Monitor equipment and systems to ensure proper operation.
- Knowledge of tracking conveyor belts and general observation/maintenance of rollers.
- Observe the proper operation of tail-pulley and head-pulley.
- Clean up excess material around the crusher using a skid steer and/or shovel as needed.
- Ability to operate a backhoe, telehandler, forklift, or manlift.
- Effective communication skills, interpersonal skills, problem-solving skills, basic math skills, and ability to inform others using radio communication or other means.
- Perform duties in the ADR plant such as carbon advancement, carbon acid wash, carbon stripping, and chemical titrations.
Experience & Qualifications:
- Minimum of two (2) to three (3) years process crusher operations or loader experience preferred.
- Prior experience in carbon adsorption plants a plus.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision, follow instructions, and provide feedback required.
- Demonstrated ability to perform the essential functions of this job required.
- Proven experience handling multiple projects as assigned while maintaining production goals.
- Organized with attention to detail and ability to recognize concerns or issues related to safety, environmentally, and operationally.
- Proven ability to work effectively with others, with an excellent safety and attendance record required.
- Ability to work a rotating day/night 12-hour shift schedule.
Work Environment:
The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee may work in outside weather conditions. The employee is occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions, fumes or airborne particles, chemicals, and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate. When in the field, appropriate hearing protection may be needed.
Safety:
Expected to wear proper Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) at all times while in a production environment. Must be able to wear a respirator to perform specific job duties. Be alert and observe, correct, and report unsafe conditions. Follow operating procedures and comply with all regulatory requirements.
