What are the responsibilities and job description for the IS Support Technician position at CALIFORNIA AERONAUTICAL UNIVERSITY?
We’re looking for a hands-on IT Support Technician to join our team! This role is mostly focused on hardware support, including troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining computers, peripherals, and A/V equipment. The ideal candidate enjoys working with technology, solving technical issues, and supporting end users in a fast-paced educational environment.
What You’ll Do
- Diagnose, repair, and maintain desktop computers, laptops, printers, and peripherals
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, network, and software issues for faculty and staff
- Install, configure, and upgrade hardware components and operating systems
- Set up and support audio/visual (A/V) equipment for classrooms, events, and presentations
- Assist with Microsoft 365 administration (Entra ID and Intune for user and device management)
- Deploy and manage Intune policies for device compliance and security
- Maintain IT asset inventory, ensuring hardware is properly documented and accounted for
- Assist with system imaging, deployments, and hardware rollouts
- Support IT infrastructure projects, including network equipment setup and maintenance
- Ensure cybersecurity best practices are followed
- Occasional travel to other CAU campus locations may be required for IT support
What We’re Looking For
- 1 years of professional IT support experience, with a strong focus on hardware troubleshooting and repair
- Experience diagnosing and repairing computers, printers, and A/V equipment
- Proficiency with Windows operating systems and basic networking concepts
- Strong customer service and communication skills
- Ability to work independently and prioritize tasks in a fast-paced environment
- Hands-on experience with projectors, sound systems, and conference room technology is a plus
- Experience with Microsoft 365 Entra ID (Azure AD) and Intune is a big plus
- Certifications such as CompTIA A , Network , CNE, CCNA, or Microsoft 365 Certified: Modern Desktop Administrator are a plus but not required
