Job Description and Duties


The mission of the High Security institutions is to provide safe and secure housing for the most violent and dangerous males, while providing opportunities for them to successfully transition to lower levels of custody by accepting personal responsibility for their actions through behavior-based multi-level programming, and providing opportunities for rehabilitation through participation in work, vocational and academic programs, substance abuse treatment and self-help programs.

Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).

Working Conditions

This position is located in Downtown Sacramento.

Telework Information: This position is on an office centered work schedule, with up to two days of remote work and three days or more onsite, per week.

**Possession of Minimum Qualifications will be verified prior to interview and/or appointment. If it is determined an applicant does not meet the Minimum Qualifications, the candidate will be withheld from the eligibility list, rendering them inactive and ineligible to be hired for the position. Candidates who have been withheld may file an appeal with the State Personnel Board.

**Candidates new to CDCR or the Division of Juvenile Justice are required to submit to a background investigation process utilizing Live Scan Fingerprinting, and Tuberculosis testing prior to appointment followed by departmental annual Tuberculosis testing/evaluation thereafter.

Individuals who are currently in the classification, eligible for lateral transfer, eligible for reinstatement, have list eligibility, are in the process of obtaining list eligibility, or have SROA and/or Surplus eligibility (please attach your letter, if available). SROA and Surplus candidates are given priority; therefore, individuals with other eligibility may be considered in the event no SROA or Surplus candidates apply. Individuals who are eligible for a Training and Development assignment may also be considered for this position(s).
